\n Senior Wind Engineer Why This Role\n

Due to continued business growth and increasing client demand for their wind power portfolio, we are looking for a Senior Wind Engineer to join our multi‑disciplinary Power Generation team to lead diverse wind projects for our clients.

What the Role Feels Like\n

You will provide design expertise and technical leadership for onshore wind projects across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and concept development through detailed design, procurement support, construction, and operational readiness, acting as an advisor to lenders, investors, developers, and contractors.

You will operate as a subject‑matter engineer for wind, providing rigorous technical input, design assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination, while being supported by Aurecon’s internal teams.

What You’ll Do\n
    \n
  • Project manage and support (including cost estimation, scheduling, and risk assessment) to deliver technical advisory, owner’s engineer, due diligence and design services within the wind energy sector for medium to large‑scale developers.
  • \n
  • Undertake and lead technical studies and design tasks for wind projects including feasibility studies, concept design, basic and detailed design phases.
  • \n
  • Select and integrate relevant internal specialists (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, grid) to deliver successful project outcomes based on project needs and availability.
  • \n
  • Provide technical inputs to CAPEX and OPEX assessments.
  • \n
  • Review OEM and contractor technical submissions, specifications, data sheets and performance guarantee s for compliance with project requirements.
  • \n
  • Develop scopes of work and manage technical proposals for moderate to complex engineering projects.
  • \n
  • Take full ownership of projects post‑onboarding, ensuring client satisfaction under your autonomy.

  • Demonstrate strong management and communication skills while collaborating with clients and internal specialists.
  • \n
What You’ll Bring\n
    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
  • \n
  • 10 or more years of experience in the utility‑scale wind sector.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in wind resource assessment, turbine technology and balance of plant, construction.
  • \n
  • Understanding grid codes and compliance requirements.
  • \n
  • Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver’s license and flexibility to travel across New Zealand and APAC.
  • \n
  • Extensive familiarity with the Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint; familiarity with CRM/ERM platforms like MS Dynamics is an advantage.
