\n About the Team\n

You’ll join our Get Me Started squad, which focuses on the digital onboarding experience for customers joining ASB. The squad works on the systems and customer journeys that help people open accounts, provide identity information, and get started with ASB in a simple and secure way.

\n

This is high-impact work that sits at the front door of the bank. The team works across complex digital flows, customer-facing platforms, and enterprise systems where quality, reliability, accessibility and speed matter. About the Role\n

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in lifting the quality and reliability of ASB’s digital onboarding experiences. You’ll bring strong hands-on automation experience, support better testing practices across the squad, and help ensure changes can be delivered safely, confidently and efficiently.

Success in this role looks like strong automation coverage, clear quality insights, practical collaboration with engineers and product teams, and a continuous improvement mindset that helps the squad build better software.

You will:

    \n
  • Lead and uplift test automation across web, API, mobile and performance testing
  • \n
  • Design, build and maintain reliable automated test frameworks and test suites
  • \n
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and Octopus
  • \n
  • Support functional testing where needed, including compatibility, accessibility and system behaviour
  • \n
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, analysts and delivery leads to build quality in early
  • \n
  • Identify quality, control and delivery risks early and communicate them clearly
  • \n
  • Coach and mentor others to strengthen testing capability and consistency across the squad
  • \n
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices, automation patterns and ways of working
  • \n
About You\n

You’re an experienced quality or automation engineer who enjoys working on customer-facing systems that need to be dependable, secure and easy to use. You’re curious, practical and collaborative, with the confidence to challenge, guide and support others in a constructive way.

\n

You will bring:

\n
    \n
  • Strong test automation experience, ideally using C#, Selenium, SpecFlow and Visual Studio
  • \n
  • Experience building, maintaining or extending automation frameworks across web and API testing
  • \n
  • API automation testing experience and a good understanding of integration points between systems
  • \n
  • Exposure to mobile automation testing, with Appium or similar tools being useful
  • \n
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter
  • \n
  • CI/CD experience, ideally using Azure DevOps, Octopus or similar tooling
  • \n
  • Experience with test management and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS
  • \n
  • Strong functional testing skills, with awareness of non-functional testing considerations
  • \n
  • A practical understanding of Agile ways of working and how quality fits into modern delivery
  • \n
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence good testing and engineering practices
  • \n
  • A self-driven approach, with a genuine interest in learning, improving and sharing knowledge
  • \n
  • An understanding of cloud concepts and how modern platforms support digital delivery
  • \n
