Product Owner – Secured Recoveries

As Product Owner for Secured Recoveries, you'll lead a squad focused on improving key customer journeys across the collection’s lifecycle. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritise outcomes and deliver meaningful improvements that create value for both customers and the business.
About the Squad\nYou’ll join a squad focused on the secured recoveries experience, helping shape how ASB supports customers through more complex collections and recovery journeys. Working closely with Collections, Credit Risk and Technology partners, the squad is responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, delivering meaningful outcomes and ensuring processes and systems remain effective, compliant and customer focused.
\nAs part of the wider Collections & Credit Solutions Uplift workstream, you'll have the opportunity to influence both immediate improvements and longer-term experience enhancements, helping to shape the future of collections at ASB.
About the Role\nAs Product Owner for the Secured Recoveries squad, you'll define the experience direction, lead prioritisation decisions and partner with stakeholders across Collections, Credit Risk and Technology to deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and the business. You'll balance customer needs, regulatory obligations and operational effectiveness while helping shape the future of ASB's collections capability.
\nYou'll be responsible for defining and delivering a roadmap that drives measurable outcomes, building strong stakeholder alignment and ensuring the squad remains focused on delivering the highest-value opportunities.
In this role you will:\n- \n
- Define and maintain a clear roadmap aligned to business priorities \n
- Prioritise work and maintain a backlog focused on delivering the highest-value outcomes \n
- Lead discovery and validation activities to identify and shape future opportunities \n
- Partner closely with Collections, Credit Risk and Technology stakeholders \n
- Balance customer outcomes, operational effectiveness and regulatory obligations \n
- Remove impediments, drive decision-making and support delivery momentum \n
- Manage risks and dependencies across initiatives and stakeholders \n
- Champion continuous improvement and contribute to the maturity of the Product Owner craft \n
You're an experienced Product Owner or delivery professional who enjoys working with complex business domains and bringing people together around a common goal. You know how to navigate ambiguity, make informed prioritisation decisions and create alignment across a broad stakeholder group.
\nYou'll be comfortable balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery and will bring a customer and outcome-focused mindset to everything you do.
Key Skills & Experience\n- \n
- Experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar delivery leadership role \n
- Strong roadmap, backlog and prioritisation experience \n
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders \n
- Experience delivering outcomes in complex or highly regulated environments \n
- Strong understanding of customer-centred product and service design \n
- Confident facilitating discovery, decision-making and trade-off discussionsExperience managing delivery risks, dependencies and competing priorities \n
- Lending, collections, servicing or recoveries experience is advantageous \n
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and cross-functional squads \n
