Job Description

We have 1 vacancy in the role of Distribution Line Mechanic working in Whangarei. This is a full‑time, permanent role working Mon – Fri, 40 hours plus on‑call roster/standby roster requirements which can include after hours and weekend work. Minimum hours per week is 30. Hourly rate – $38 - $42.50 p/hr. About the role To ensure the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to customer and network requirements are met in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner. Building, servicing and maintaining overhead electrical lines up to 33kV Installing and replacing pole structures and conductors Operating equipment and completing field documentation Supporting performance targets with strong teamwork and problem‑solving Ensuring safety, compliance and quality in every task About You Similar work experience preferred EWRB Registration as a Distribution Line Mechanic required Class 2 Driver's Licence (advantageous) Current Driver’s Licence required (Class 1 minimum) Experience in overhead lines work preferred Great attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safety Physical capability to handle a hands‑on role What's in it for you?
