Building Surveyor | Consent Processing | Expression of Interest In the Building Consents department, our mission is to ensure that buildings across Auckland are safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations. About the Role We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Project Assessment team based at our Manukau hub. You will play a crucial part in supporting our customers by providing timely and precise information about building and development matters. Responsibilities Process complex building consent applications and provide guidance to peers and industry professionals on project strategies and alternative solutions. Review and assess building consent applications to ensure compliance with the New Zealand Building Code, the Building Act, and other relevant legislation. Manage case files efficiently and help customers understand regulatory requirements. Offer clear guidance and advice on the application process to ensure smooth and accurate submissions. Provide expert advice and support to industry professionals, fostering best practices. Stay current with changes in legislation and regulations to educate customers on up-to-date building code expectations. Effectively manage assigned work to meet organisational goals and financial obligations. Qualifications National Diploma in Building Control Surveying or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional qualification recognised under Regulation 18 (IANZ). At least 5 years of cumulative industry experience working with large scale commercial development projects, including proven experience in Building Consents Processing and familiarity with relevant codes and regulations. Extensive knowledge in building design and/or construction and its effective monitoring and/or engineering disciplines. Current Building Consent processing competency of RES 3 or higher is highly advantageous. Solid foundation in building design, construction, and engineering standards that align with our accreditation requirements. Proven industry experience and a commitment to continuous learning. Benefits & Compensation Competitive competency linked salary structure ranging from $90,000 to $96,000 per annum (based on relevant skills and experience).
