Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Sport Leadership and Management) - School of Sport, Exercise & Health (perm, 1.0FTE) Provide academic expertise in sport leadership and sport management, contributing to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision. Actively publish and contribute to innovative, collaborative research broadly aligned with the School of Sport, Exercise and Health. Lead curriculum and course development. Primarily based at AUT’s Akoranga Campus, with teaching and engagement across the University’s other campuses as required. We have a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) opportunity for a motivated Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to make significant impact and develop their career in teaching, research and service. About you | Ko waikoe At AUT, academic staff combine teaching, research and engagement to create meaningful impact. You will work closely with students, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to projects with industry, community and academic partners. We’re looking for academics with curiosity, energy and openness to new ideas , who are committed to collegiality, cultural humility and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Indigenous peoples and diverse communities. Experience contributing to Indigenous, equity or inclusion-focused initiatives is highly valued. The selection criteria sought are: Qualification: A PhD relevant to sport leadership (or a related field) Research: An early career academic will have the basis of a solid research pipeline and a job market paper available. More experienced candidates will already have a more established research programme and a proven research track record with quality publications and ideally also success in external funding bids. Evidence of proactively pursuing external research income is desirable. (Lecturers) Evidence of securing or contributing to external research income is desirable. (Senior Lecturers) Teaching: An early career academic will ideally have at least some previous teaching assistant experience. More experienced candidates will have previous lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development and preferably experience supervising Masters and/or PhD students.
