About the role Join our team as an Electorate Trainer. You will deliver nationally prescribed training to Voting Place kaimahi across the electorate, ensuring they understand their roles and can excel in them. The role is casual, with an hourly rate of $34.56 (including 8% holiday pay). Training will begin in mid‑September. This position may be based remotely or from an Electorate Headquarters and requires availability outside regular business hours, including weekends, and occasional travel. A driver’s licence is required. What you’ll be doing Collaborate with the Recruitment and Rostering Manager and Electorate Manager to facilitate training for Voting Place kaimahi. Prepare and set up training areas according to the Electorate Manager’s guidelines. Attend training sessions to familiarise yourself with materials and delivery requirements. Complete necessary training and eLearning. Conduct evaluations of participants, providing constructive feedback to the Recruitment and Rostering Manager. Deliver nationally prescribed training to voting place staff within the time allocated, ensuring successful outcomes. What you’ll need to succeed The ability to present using a variety of formats, particularly PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including pronunciation of te reo Māori. Experience delivering training, utilising nationally prescribed strategies and materials. Proven ability to train a diverse and culturally inclusive audience. Strong interpersonal skills that build effective relationships. Demonstrates integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to handle sensitive information. Action‑oriented with a drive for results, taking initiative to achieve goals. Methodical and disciplined approach to training delivery within set timelines. Access to reliable transportation.
