About the Role An opportunity exists for a part time Orthopaedic Surgeon ideally with an interest in Foot, Ankle and deformity correction surgery to join Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. This role supports the delivery of high quality Orthopaedic care to the people of the Bay of Plenty across both Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals including acute and planned care and on call commitments. About the Team/Service The Bay of Plenty Orthopaedic Department offers a comprehensive suite of general and specialised orthopaedic services. The department is staffed by 16 surgeons, 4 SET trainees, 9 pre‑SET registrars, and regular fellows. It is supported by a team of house officers and hosts medical students from the University of Auckland. The department is committed to providing the best possible orthopaedic care to the residents of the Bay of Plenty region. It places a strong emphasis on the delivery of high‑quality education and fosters a supportive and collegial work environment. About you The ideal applicant will: Have Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of surgeons or equivalent. Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with a vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Be aligned with the values of the department and be able to work in a professional capacity with their colleagues and wider health care providers.
