Job Description

This role sits within the BAU Production Support team, responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of the production environment. As a Guidewire Developer, you will play a key role in analysing, designing, developing, and implementing enhancements across Guidewire platforms. You will ensure the delivery of clean, maintainable code, actively support agile methodologies, and collaborate closely with senior developers and architects to achieve high-quality outcomes. This is a permanent full-time role based in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington). Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You’ll Do Application support & stability: Ensure reliable operation of Guidewire applications through proactive monitoring, incident resolution and root cause analysis, maintaining high availability and performance across production environments. Configuration & system management: Maintain and enhance Guidewire configurations, including business rules, integrations, APIs and environment settings, driving improvements and reducing manual effort through automation. Defect management & continuous improvement: Investigate and resolve defects across production and non-production environments, identifying trends and recommending enhancements to improve system stability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaboration & stakeholder engagement: Work closely with business stakeholders, system owners and delivery teams to refine requirements, provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with business outcomes. Ōu Pūkenga me ōu Wheako | What You’ll Bring Proven experience supporting Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter or ClaimCenter) in a production or support environment Strong understanding of application support processes, incident management and root cause analysis Hands‑on experience with Guidewire configuration (e.g. business rules, product model, integrations, APIs) Working knowledge of SDLC, Agile and continuous delivery practices Ability to analyse complex issues, troubleshoot effectively and drive sustainable solutions Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business users Experience with automation and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency Tā Mātau ki a Koutou| What We Offer Boosted KiwiSaver with 4.5% employer contribution and life insurance as standard. 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you).
