Your typical day will be spent providing antenatal and postnatal care to the people of the West Coast region, with a choice to offer homebirths or birthing in either of our birthing units at Te Nikau Maternity, Greymouth or Te Rua Kawa Kawa, Westport. Outside of work, you will have access to some of Aotearoa’s best kept scenic secrets of the West Coast, especially popular for tramping, rafting, canoeing and many other outdoor pursuits. Although you will be based in the community, you will be provided with access to education, training and support from the team at Te Nikau and collegially supported by your central and southern colleagues providing LMC care. A sustainability package is also available to our West Coast LMCs. From July last year the West Coast DHB transitioned across to Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ.
