Job Description

Principal Advisor - Performance Advisory and Analytics Influence critical decisions and transformational change across Housing Delivery. Be the trusted strategic advisor who connects the system and turns complexity into action. Open to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as work location Permanent role + 5 weeks' annual leave and insurance benefits As Principal Advisor, Performance, Advisory and Analytics, you will provide high-level strategic support to Directors across Housing Delivery’s business groups. Working across a complex delivery environment, you will connect priorities, identify wider impacts and dependencies, anticipate challenges and help keep critical work on track. You will support transformational change by providing clear advice, joining up activity across teams and helping leaders translate strategic direction into practical action. You will bring together insights, challenge thinking and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working. At the centre of major initiatives and senior-level decision making, you will help Directors navigate complex issues and coordinate change across Housing Delivery. Through trusted advice and strong system-wide connections, you will enable practical, lasting improvements while supporting leaders to deliver better outcomes. Senior strategic advisory expertise, supported by a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, ideally within housing or another complex environment. Strong planning and delivery capability, with experience developing and implementing time-critical strategies, programmes and advice. Exceptional communication and influence, including writing for Boards, senior leaders and official information requests. Proven relationship management and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, engage decision makers and navigate competing priorities. Adaptability and sound business acumen, supported by resilience, strong organisation and advanced reporting and Microsoft 365 skills. Public sector experience would be an advantage.
