Grounds & Property Maintenance Officer

Location: Tauranga, NZ Grounds & Property Maintenance Officer ACG Tauranga is part of Inspired Education, a leading global group of premium schools. We are looking for an experienced Grounds and Property Technician who is “hands on” (perhaps with trade experience) and can hit the ground running in tasks such as general maintenance, health and safety compliance, contractor management, budgeting and related administration. This position is a job share role with our current Grounds and Property Maintenance Technician for two days a week on Thursdays and Fridays. Key Responsibilities Ensure that school gardens and car park areas are tidy and litter free Liaise with sub‑contractors to ensure that grounds are maintained Keep the gardens free of weeds Carry out all weeding, pruning and future planting Mow all areas at a frequency that ensures no clippings are left on the surface at any time Mow sport fields as required Carry out line marking for sporting codes as required Pathways and driveways: mechanical edging to be carried out on all high‑profile areas; accurate edge spraying on all lower profile areas Pond surrounds: carry out all weed‑eating of banks Ensure machinery supplied by ACG is well maintained Ideal Candidate Reliable and dependable, with a strong work ethic Proactive and self‑motivated approach to maintenance tasks Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation Safety‑conscious and committed to best practices Committed to child safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for students Practical problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on attitude Well organised and able to manage competing priorities Positive team player with strong interpersonal skills Flexible and adaptable to changing school needs and emergencies First Aid certificate preferred, however not essential Clean, full NZ driver's licence is essential Safeguarding Statement Inspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
