What will you be doing |Ngā whainga The Senior Public Relations Executive is instrumental in shaping and amplifying New Zealand’s reputation as a world-class travel destination. Collaborating with the Public Relations Manager, this role manages the delivery of strategic global PR initiatives, generating earned media coverage that elevates Tourism New Zealand’s brand internationally. You will manage high-profile projects and lead large-scale tentpole moments from start to finish. The role crafts compelling, distinctive content that inspires preference for Aotearoa through engaging storytelling across earned channels. This role is vital for maximising the reach and impact of destination-focused narratives, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of best-in-class earned PR projects and campaigns. Key responsibilities include producing and distributing engaging supporting PR materials, managing on-the-ground production in New Zealand, and ensuring robust health & safety and stakeholder management. What you will need | Ngā pūkenga mŏ tēnei tūranganga +8 years public working in Public Relations, content, sponsorship or journalism media. Experience developing and delivering large-scale projects where you have been involved with creative and production agencies from briefing right through to implementation. Solid understanding of media industry, channels and publishers, including experience working with broadcast producers, NZ and international media, partners and KOLs. Have an eye for detail, able to spot a good story when you see this, and calm under pressure. It goes without saying that you’ll have excellent stakeholder management, communication and writing skills. Experience using AI-enabled tools to effectively deliver your role. (ie Microsoft Copilot). Passion and good general knowledge of New Zealand as a destination. Must have a full NZ Drivers licence, the right to live and work in New Zealand and have the ability to travel domestically frequently.
