Position Details Position: Customer Engineer Location: Auckland, NewZealand Working time: Shifts, Full time Hours per week: 40 Annual Salary: NZD70,000 Key Duties and Responsibilities Installation, maintenance, and repairs on equipment within an assigned territory to ensure continuity of customer operations and high levels of customer satisfaction. May be requested to work outside the assigned area as determined by projects, to cover for colleagues, and at times of demand peaks. Owns customer problems or incidents until resolution to the customer's satisfaction or compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA). Diagnoses, repairs, and replaces components on equipment supported by NCR Voyix, including Point of Sale, self‑service checkout, servers, handheld terminals and associated peripherals. Installs new equipment or upgrades existing equipment in line with the Statement of Work (SOW). Assists in site preparation, including installation of cable, staging of equipment, and testing; performs required modular swaps and unit replacements. Subject to required training and certification, which may include work at height (ladders, MEWP) or use of handheld power tools. Responds to all customer concerns or problems by resolving them or escalating to the appropriate associate, team member, territory manager, or Control Tower. Builds working relationships with customers and develops informal communication channels with local customer accounts. Represents NCR Voyix in a manner that reflects positively on the company's image and reputation. Performs periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products; diagnoses problems, makes repairs, and replaces components or modules. Responsible for all NCR Voyix assets used in the delivery of customer services (tools, software, vehicles, documentation, intellectual property). Maintains an appropriate parts inventory and records. Accurately and promptly reports calls, activity, and other required reporting; tracks and reports all expenses incurred in delivering services, including telephone, private automobile, and public transportation. Captures detailed customer asset information and other data required for invoicing or billing activities. May be dispatched daily on a call‑by‑call basis or may establish a daily schedule based on automated reports. May be required to travel, lift parts up to 50lbs (25kg), and perform bending, squatting, walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Participates in the shift pattern for the operating area, which may include weekend and evening work as required. May participate in night shifts where 24×7 customer support is needed; additional allowance may be payable as per local guidelines. Works to achieve the Key Performance Indicators established on a routine basis to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, quality outcomes, and balanced cost and safety operations. Mandatory Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent years of related experience. Basic computer skills, including Windows OS navigation and basic familiarity with Microsoft Office. Experience in PC hardware maintenance and support. Works well with minimal supervision. Good problem‑solving skills. Ability to learn new skills quickly. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to meet deadlines and produce high‑quality work. Excellent interpersonal and customer‑relationship skills. High level of mechanical/electrical aptitude; experience maintaining computer hardware (desktops, servers, peripherals), routers, networks, switches, hubs. High level of personal integrity; supports and promotes teamwork and cooperative effort. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on‑calls. Clean driving license required. Licensed to drive and operate a motor vehicle; agrees to periodic telematics review for risk analysis while conducting company business in a company‑provided vehicle (if applicable). Relevant: 2 years’ work experience. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or certifications in a technology field preferred. Previous experience with NCR or similar equipment is a plus. Recognized qualification within the electronics or IT domain preferred. EPOS maintenance or installation experience is preferred; strong desktop hardware experience may be considered if EPOS experience is limited.
