Job Description
Job Summary As part of the APAC HR team, you will provide HR Business Partner services across multiple locations and business units within the region, focusing on One Cubic. You will support the implementation of human resource strategy in alignment with short‑ and long‑term business goals, including resource planning, organizational design, employee relations, talent management, and compliance with company and statutory policies. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide HR business partnering and employee‑relations services for managers across a range of locations and business units; coach, guide, and implement strategies to meet business goals. Build strong, effective relationships with regional and corporate shared‑service teams in recruiting, training, compensation, and benefits. Support managers in talent acquisition, organizational design, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, engagement, and change programmes. Assist in designing new positions, guiding compensation, and supporting senior‑role interviews. Manage internal transfers end to end and resolve employee issues, mediate disputes, and recommend solutions. Coach managers on compliance with local laws, best practice, and company policies; consult with legal counsel as needed. Develop and implement strategies for change, including acquisitions, growth, restructurings, and reductions in force. Handle long‑term absence and occupational health matters and support HR services in new countries or entities. Maintain HRIS and personnel files in accordance with policy; undertake analysis and reporting as required. Deliver employee and manager training, enhance communication programmes, and champion employee engagement activities. Manage industrial relations, negotiate pay awards, and lead HR projects as requested. Collaborate with the HR team on ad‑hoc projects and interventions; travel within NewZealand and APAC as needed. Comply with Cubic’s values, code of conduct, quality, security, and occupational health, safety, and environmental policies. Qualifications Essential: Degree in a related discipline (Business Studies, HRM, Psychology, etc.) or equivalent education and experience. Desirable: Full driving licence. Key Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, and Experience) Proven track record of delivering best‑practice HR Business Partner services in a busy HR department; strong experience in Australia and knowledge of multiple APAC jurisdictions. Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, change management, planning, and project delivery. Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable with HRIS and Workday. Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law, HR qualifications, and willingness to maintain credentials. Experience supporting all levels of management and delivering employee training and coaching. Background in employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion, and talent management. Preferred: Experience in technology or engineering businesses, setting up end‑to‑end HR services, due diligence, integration, and union or joint‑consultative committees. Personal Qualities Strong communication skills, able to work with leaders and employees at all levels. Proactive, organised, and adept at multi‑tasking and prioritising under deadlines. Strong project management and collaboration skills focused on customer‑focused outcomes. Sound judgement, problem‑solving ability, and capacity to promote company values and policies. Ability to travel to other company sites.
