Job Description

About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer in the Move My Money Squad, you will design, build and evolve the digital experiences that power payments and money movement across ASB’s web channels. This role combines front‑end expertise with opportunities to contribute across the full technology stack. You will work closely with product, design and engineering colleagues to deliver secure, scalable, accessible solutions while mentoring and providing technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain customer‑facing applications using React and TypeScript; Contribute to backend services, APIs and integrations using .NET technologies; Deliver secure, accessible and responsive digital experiences for customers; Collaborate with designers and product teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions; Champion engineering quality through testing, code reviews and best practices; Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to other engineers; Contribute to architecture, design decisions and continuous improvement initiatives; Support the delivery of reliable, scalable and high‑performing digital banking solutions. About You You are a passionate software engineer who enjoys building great products, solving complex problems and helping others succeed. You are comfortable contributing hands‑on technical expertise and guiding engineers around you. You take pride in delivering quality software, work collaboratively, and understand how strong engineering practices contribute to outstanding customer experiences. Qualifications Strong commercial experience building modern customer‑facing applications using React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS and SCSS; Experience designing and building responsive, accessible and high‑performing web applications, with a strong understanding of modern front‑end architecture and user experience principles; Full‑stack capability, including building and consuming REST APIs and working with .NET‑based services and applications; Strong understanding of software design patterns, object‑oriented and/or functional programming principles, and building maintainable, scalable solutions; Experience applying secure software development practices, automated testing, unit testing and engineering quality standards throughout the software delivery lifecycle; Familiarity with modern engineering tooling and practices including NPM, Webpack, CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery methodologies; Exposure to Azure cloud technologies, end‑to‑end testing frameworks, test‑driven development and modern cloud‑native approaches would be advantageous; Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching, while working effectively with engineers, designers, product teams and stakeholders. Nice to Have ASP.NET and MVC development experience; Experience working within large‑scale, customer‑facing digital platforms; Experience contributing across both front‑end and backend codebases; Working at ASB experience.
