About the role Education is central to the Nurse/Midwife Educator role; however, to influence and strengthen nursing/midwifery practice it is essential that the role is underpinned by all the competencies described in the position below. Support new and existing staff within the Community team with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence-based and fit for purpose Collaborate alongside nurses, medical colleagues and other educators within the wider PDU team Provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes Use critical incidents as an opportunity for staff development Act as a resource person and support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements Mentor nurses, midwives and preceptors where appropriate Network nationally and internationally and keep up to date on trends and developments within education About us Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. About you Proven experience leading or teaching others Current APC and already hold NZ working rights A born communicator and collaborator Able to build successful working relationships Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Senior Nurse Grade 1 Pay Scale, between $114,025 and $121,444 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
