About the Role As a Cutline Operator, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality timber products for both New Zealand and export markets. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll operate and monitor specialised machinery, maintain production flow, carry out routine maintenance, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Your responsibilities may include: Operating and monitoring cutline equipment, scanners, planers, saws, moisture meters, and grading systems. Setting up machinery and ensuring equipment is running efficiently to maximise recovery and production output. Monitoring timber quality, moisture content, and product specifications. Completing quality checks, calibrations, and test cuts. Carrying out routine maintenance and equipment adjustments. Operating a forklift (where licensed) and managing timber bins and material movement. Maintaining accurate production, maintenance, and quality records. Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe. Working collaboratively with production, yard, and support teams to achieve operational goals. Following all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures. What We're Looking For Essential A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Good physical fitness and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Strong teamwork and communication skills. A commitment to workplace health and safety. A reliable work ethic and attention to detail. Desirable Experience in a timber processing or wood manufacturing environment. Forklift experience and current forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).
