Job Description
Nurse Educator – Community Nurse Educator – Community Salary Band – $114,000 – $121,000 Dunedin Hospital 0.7FTE / 56 hours per fortnight Fixed‑term parental leave cover until September2027. About the role Support new and existing staff within the Community team with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence‑based and fit for purpose. Collaborate alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team. Provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes. Use critical incidents as an opportunity for staff development. Act as a resource person and support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements. Mentor nurses, midwives and preceptors where appropriate. Network nationally and internationally and keep up to date on trends and developments within education.
