Job Description Contractor Liaison and Permit Issuer – Permanent, full‑time role with competitive remuneration and benefits. Location: Onsite, Wellington – Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Professional development: Gain valuable experience in a dynamic, evolving role. As the Contractor Liaison and Permit Issuer you are part of the Engineering CoE (Center of Excellence) group. You will primarily support contractors and colleagues in getting on the job in a compliant and efficient manner to meet KPIs by reviewing, guiding and approving permits and identifying and implementing process improvements to ensure the smooth running of the manufacturing facility. You support our Animal Health site by enabling unconstrained, compliant product supply at a cost point that meets our customers’ needs. Responsibilities Lead and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver on technical area targets. Anticipate and solve complex work requests that require safe implementation. Challenge processes and procedures to identify quality, safety and cost improvements; lead remediation such as SOP updates. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment within the team and with other stakeholders. Perform routine frontline technical activities, including contractor inductions, supporting maintenance, projects and production teams (e.g., confined space entry) and executing capital projects safely. Ensure all GMP, corporate and legislative compliance requirements are met. Organise daily tasks and support site schedules. Approve permits in accordance with company and Worksafe NZ policies. Carry out monthly audits and KPI reporting of permits and records. Maintain engineering staff and contractor training and records. Administer and operate staff and contractor management systems (e.g., Totara, ePass). Update site procedures related to contractors and permitting as required. Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to staff and contractors regarding safe work practices. Qualifications National Certificate, Trade Qualification, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Maintenance, Health & Safety or Industrial Operations. Demonstrated knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, contractor management and permit‑to‑work systems. Proven ability to manage high‑risk work permits, conduct contractor inductions, identify and control risks, perform audits and maintain compliance in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem‑solving and administrative skills. Extensive prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, animal health, food, chemical or similar). Report and investigation writing skills. Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Experience with GMP/GLP or ISO 9000 is advantageous.
