About the Role This is a permanent 0.7 FTE designated Senior Nursing role based in Nelson Hospital. Working collaboratively with the nurse educator team and the wider MDT, the Nurse Educator will coach and educate staff to their best potential, resulting in improved experiences and outcomes for health consumers. Key duties include: Leading and embedding evidence‑based practice. Developing education strategies and learning objectives. Engaging staff in identifying areas for development. Planning and facilitating learning opportunities. Ensuring clinical quality systems are in place within and across surgical nursing services to enhance care delivery. About the Team / Location The surgical services team spans two wards and provides care across multiple surgical specialties. The team is enthusiastic, highly professional and committed to delivering patient‑ and whanau‑centred care within a collaborative, supportive and high‑quality clinical environment. About You Positive, motivated senior registered nurse with broad surgical nursing experience. Extensive experience working across the health care setting. Proven teaching ability in both formal and informal settings. Clinical Masters or equivalent completed, or committed to completing. Key contributor to professional development and nursing workforce growth. Dedication to implementing and maintaining clinical quality systems. Commitment to improving outcomes and experiences for patients and whānau through a responsive, compassionate and safe experience. Ability to prioritize equity, critical thinking and escalation pathways.
