Job Description

Introduction Beautiful location, cats and comfy home 20 min walk to CBD or beach. Numpster and Gotham (our cute pusscats) are keen to meet some new friends as Chris and I will be away for just over a week this November. We're cat, board game, coffee, gaming and travel lovers who are hoping to find someone who will love discovering our little corner of the world. Chris is 39, a sociologist from Wellington and I'm 37, a business and financial analysis manager from the Orkney islands. Pets Numpster and Gotham are 6‑year‑old rescue cats. They are super cute indoor cats but as Numpster is blind she needs a little more company than an average cat. Home & location We have a lovely 3‑bed house with two bathrooms and two living areas and a cat den situated right on the 20 bus route into the centre of Wellington–and the view is fabulous of the city. The house has all the facilities a house sitter might want – its warm, has good Wi‑Fi, entertainment options (Netflix, Disney plus, smart TV linked to YouTube, PlayStation consoles, board games, books, records, etc), well‑furnished kitchen with all standard machines and extras (top‑of‑the‑line Breville espresso barista machine, automatic coffee grinder, dishwasher, slow cooker, pressure cooker, food processor, etc), washer/dryer. There is super easy access to beautiful walks around the top of Mount Victoria and a beautiful 5 km loop down to Oriental Bay and back up the hill for those comfortable with a hill walk – and great on‑street parking and bus links for those who don't want to walk it! Responsibilities Feed the cats twice daily. Keep them company for at least a little bit each day (Numpster the blind cat needs a little more attention than an average cat). Clean out the litter trays regularly (clear poos each day and change the three litter trays on a weekly basis, putting the bins out). Put the bin with the dirty litter out for refuse collection (bin day is Thursday, needs to be put out by 8 a.m.) and glass/other recycling is the same time but on alternate weeks. Keep in touch with us on how the cats are doing (ideally send lots of pictures). We will also provide contact details etc for any kind of emergency for friends/family and neighbours to help out if needed. Note: we require house sitters to not hold any parties / request kindly that you have minimal guests at the property – even with us here Gothy is very nervous and is prone to cowering right under the bed when people visit and not coming out for hours after. #J-18808-Ljbffr
