We’re looking for Civil Engineering Summer Interns specifically based within Christchurch and in the Canterbury region.Swap screen time for site time this summer and get stuck into real projects that help build and maintain the roads, bridges, water and energy infrastructure communities rely on every day. About the role This paid internship runs from November 2026 to February 2027 and gives you a real taste of civil contracting. You’ll be out on site, learning from experienced crews, seeing how designs become real infrastructure, and building practical experience that counts towards your Civil Engineering hours. Do well here and you could fast‑track into Fulton Hogan scholarships and our Graduate Programme. Key role responsibilities Work alongside our project and site teams on live infrastructure projects. Get hands‑on exposure to day‑to‑day operations, planning and project delivery. Contribute to work that supports quality, safety and on‑time delivery. See how our civil contracting business runs from tender to handover. Qualifications Current study towards a Civil Engineering degree or diploma at a New Zealand‑recognised tertiary institute. New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or New Zealand permanent residency. Class 1 Full Drivers Licence and access to a car (preferred). A genuine interest in practical, on‑site work. A proactive, organised approach and confident communication skills. Adaptability, curiosity and a willingness to learn from feedback.
