Job Description Job title: Programme Architect Role type: Full time, fixed term through to June 2027 Location: Wellington City Salary band & range: GSR B $141,717 to $182,567 depending on skills and experience Overview As Programme Architect, you will be responsible for leading the architectural direction for both the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) transformation and Exit Marshall Smart lane (EMS) programmes. The EMS programme is a cutting‑edge initiative that will transform the experience for inbound international travellers crossing the border, allowing them to pass seamlessly and effortlessly through Biosecurity screening in an all‑digital, zero‑touch experience. The HRIS programme will modernise MPI's HR processes and technology, driving meaningful operational change into the organisation. These high‑profile initiatives require strategic oversight and engagement to understand risks, requirements, and dependencies. This role demands exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills, beyond the technical scope. Responsibilities Lead architectural direction and oversight for HRIS and EMS programmes. Partner with programme and project managers to plan efficient delivery, ensuring architectural integrity across initiatives. Translate complex technical concepts to stakeholders and guide decision‑making to align with strategic outcomes. Qualifications Strong verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate ideas effectively and influence stakeholders. Ability to tailor communication for non‑technical stakeholders, addressing their priorities and concerns. Extensive architecture experience spanning a broad range of technology domains. Experience leading cross‑functional engagements and delivering strategic outcomes.
