Job Description

Location: Wellington Regional Hospital Contract: Permanent, Full-Time About the Role As our Simulation Centre Coordinator and Technical Assistant, no two days are quite the same. You will welcome learners and educators into the Simulation and Skills Centre, ensuring training rooms, equipment and technology are ready for the day ahead. Throughout the day, you will coordinate course bookings, manage participant communications, update learning systems, prepare educational resources and support the administration of specialist programmes. You will act as the first point of contact for the centre, creating a professional, welcoming experience for everyone who engages with our service. Alongside coordination and administration responsibilities, you will support simulation activities and learning technology. You may assist with simulation scenarios, provide first‑line troubleshooting for audio‑visual and virtual meeting technology, and manage equipment bookings. You will work closely with simulation educators, clinicians and technical specialists to foster an environment that values innovation, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Welcome learners and educators into the Simulation and Skills Centre and prepare training rooms, equipment, and technology. Coordinate course bookings, manage participant communications, update learning systems, prepare educational resources, and support the administration of specialist programmes. Serve as the first point of contact for the centre, creating a professional welcoming experience for all stakeholders. Assist with simulation scenarios, provide first‑line troubleshooting for audio‑visual and virtual meeting technology, and manage equipment bookings. Work closely with simulation educators, clinicians, and technical specialists to foster innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service. Qualifications A tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in learning technology, administration or a related field. Experience in a customer‑facing administration or coordination role. Experience supporting or coordinating courses, events, workshops, or large meetings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Confidence using technology, including Microsoft Office applications, virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and learning technologies. Experience providing first‑line technical support and troubleshooting audio‑visual equipment. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Desirable experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). Desirable experience applying TeTiritioWaitangi principles in practice. Salary Salary band: $73,476 – $76,551, depending on experience.
