Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 21/09/2026, End Date: 25/06/2027 (Maternity Leave) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Tamaoho School is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and energetic kaiako to join our team as a part-time CRT PE specialist teacher . This role will involve providing high-quality physical education instruction across the school while supporting teachers' classroom release time. We are looking for someone who can create engaging, inclusive, and well-structured PE lessons that support all learners in participating, building confidence, developing movement skills, and experiencing success. The successful applicant will have strong classroom management skills, clear expectations, and the ability to build positive relationships with learners, whaanau, and staff. They will understand the importance of creating safe, supportive and culturally responsive learning environments where learners feel encouraged to take risks, work collaboratively and develop a positive attitude towards physical activity. We are looking for a kaiako who: Has a passion for physical education, sport, health and wellbeing Can plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across a range of year levels Uses clear routines, positive behaviour strategies and explicit teaching Builds strong, respectful relationships with learners, whaanau and colleagues Is organised, flexible and able to work collaboratively across the school Coordinates and organises external sporting events and opportunities that enable learners to participate, represent the school and experience success Demonstrates a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally sustaining practice Contributes positively to our school culture and values This part‑time position, 0.6 FTTE / three days per week , would suit a teacher who enjoys working with a range of learners and is confident in teaching PE in an inclusive, active, and fun way. Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and experience supporting school‑wide sport or physical activity programmes would be an advantage.
