Senior Software Engineer
The Role
We are an agile, collaborative product team building scalable core services and customer portals. We focus on solid engineering fundamentals, clean code, and actively look for ways to leverage AI to optimize how we work.
As our Senior Software Engineer, you will lead a major strategic initiative: bringing an external application in-house and aligning it with our core Python, React, and GCP ecosystem. This is a high-impact role where you will tackle a complex migration challenge, build secure cloud services, and shape a robust future roadmap.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architectural decisions to bring the application in-house.
- Development Write clean, scalable, and well-tested Python and React code for our core services and customer portals.
- Maintain robust CI/CD, automate testing, and ensure high-performing, secure cloud deployments.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct peer code reviews, and drive continuous improvement in our Agile processes.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 7+ years in software engineering; strong Agile collaboration.
- Deep expertise in Python and React; cloud engineering. .
- Strong GCP and/or Azure; cloud computing, API's, containers
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with code migration/in-housing projects.
- Familiarity with .NET; strong CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Passion for using AI tools to streamline development.
Additional Information
Office-based working environment, work from our Christchurch office three or more days per week.
