About the Role\n

We are seeking a highly motivated nurse to join our senior nursing gastroenterology team as a Gastroenterology Specialty Clinical Nurse (SCN). The SCN position is established to oversee and coordinate the care of gastroenterology patients who have had a positive faecal immunochemical test (FIT). As a key member of the Gastroenterology team, you will communicate with patients, manage and monitor their journey, initiate diagnostics for a selected cohort, and grow your expertise in the FIT pathway.

  • Coordinate care for gastroenterology patients with positive FIT results.
  • \n
  • Manage and monitor the patient journey from referral through to outcome.
  • \n
  • Initiate and oversee diagnostic investigations for selected patients.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality endoscopy services.
  • \n
  • Support the implementation of the FIT pathway and its future transition to primary care.
  • \n
Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Current Registered Nurse with an APC.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills, with an innovative and forward‑thinking approach.
  • \n
  • Registered or planning to obtain a relevant postgraduate qualification.

About the Team/Service\n

The gastroenterology department provides regional and tertiary services with a strong focus on endoscopy and interventional procedures for adults and, occasionally, children in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
