Southern Cross Health Insurance seeks an experienced analytics leader to own the insights and analytics capability as Head of Insights and Analytics. The role combines commercial, healthcare, and advanced analytics expertise to turn data into measurable commercial outcomes and provide thought leadership on healthcare utilisation, cost drivers and claims performance.

Responsibilities\n

  • Provide thought leadership, commercial insight and specialist advice while partnering closely with Data & AI to ensure analytics are underpinned by trusted, high‑quality data and engaging key stakeholders across the business.
  • \n
  • Apply predictive modelling, AI and advanced analytical techniques to improve forecasting, detect emerging trends, optimise claims performance and identify opportunities to reduce claims leakage and inefficiency.
  • \n
  • Translate complex healthcare, clinical and claims data into clear, evidence‑based recommendations and compelling narratives that inform strategic decisions, investment priorities and business performance.
  • \n
  • Develop and embed scalable analytical frameworks, prioritising effort on initiatives with the greatest impact on financial sustainability, member outcomes and organisational performance.
  • \n
  • Partner with stakeholders across product, pricing, healthcare partnerships, member strategy and financial planning to translate insight into tangible business outcomes.
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity, governance, quality and explainability, ensuring insights meet regulatory and organisational expectations.
  • \n
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in healthcare economics, analytics and AI, bringing external insight and innovative thinking into Southern Cross.
  • \n
Qualifications\n

  • Deep expertise in healthcare economics, claims performance, utilisation trends and the drivers of healthcare cost and value.
  • \n
  • Advanced analytics, predictive modelling and AI capability applied to real business outcomes.
  • \n
  • Thought leadership and innovation, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive change through insight, credibility and evidence.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical outputs into clear, strategic business insights for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A track record of improving performance, reducing waste and creating measurable value.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking that connects financial, clinical and operational perspectives.
