Senior Distribution Engineer

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Electra in searching for its Senior Distribution Engineer, joining the Network Design and Engineering Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading technical role in developing Electra's electricity distribution network. Enabling increased investment, you will provide specialist engineering support across a range of equipment, while collaborating with the Asset Management, Network Development, and Service Delivery teams.

Joining an agile and aspirational Network Design and Engineering Team, you will contribute to the development of new ways of working, devising new design and workflow processes. Further, you will lead the uplift in network standards and technical specifications, contribute to quality assurance, and take ownership of pivotal projects across the network.

With offices in Paraparaumu and Levin, you can choose where to be based while joining a progressive, community‑owned organisation committed to investing in its people and its network.

Playing a key role in tactical engineering, you will support the broader business in making effective engineering decisions that improve network performance and directly benefit Electra's customers.

Day to day, your role will include:

• Owning the design and delivery of large and complex projects – both Network Initiated and Customer Initiated
\n
• Undertaking technical assessments that support network growth, renewal and optimisation
\n
• Uplifting network standards and specifications, following industry best practice that fits Electra's needs
\n
• Supporting the Network Design and Engineering Manager in providing technical mentorship to Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers across the business
\n
• Engaging consultants and working closely with contractors to ensure designs are practical and pragmatic, enabling the successful delivery of Electra's network programme
\n

With a strong background in electricity distribution, you will bring both technical and collaborative skill, informing your approach to engineering. With project delivery at the forefront of your mind, you'll enjoy solving complex problems while supporting the development of those around you.

Familiar with distribution standards, SMEIs, and regulations you could come from a range of engineering backgrounds within the sector. Whether from a utility, contractor, or consultancy, you will genuinely enjoy striving for industry best practice and thrive in communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Holding a relevant tertiary qualification (diploma or degree) or extensive demonstrated experience in electricity distribution is highly desirable.
