Consultant Psychiatrist (Child & Adolescent) – Rotorua Hospital – Full Time – Permanent

Location\n

Rotorua and Taupō, Lakes District, North Island, New Zealand

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Manage a dynamic and diverse range of child and adolescent psychiatry cases.
  • \n
  • Provide comprehensive and holistic care for Tamariki, Rangatahi, and their whānau.
  • \n
  • Apply the Te Ara Tauwhirotanga (kindness‑led) model of care in all clinical activities.
  • \n
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of colleagues and trainees to develop the next generation of mental health professionals.
  • \n
  • Contribute to team quality improvement and support professional development.
  • \n
Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Eligible for Vocational Registration as a Child Psychiatrist with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
  • \n
  • Strong foundation in general psychiatry, capable of delivering comprehensive care.
  • \n
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations, including Māori and Pacific communities.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • \n
  • Commitment to embedding Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice.
  • \n
