Courier Driver
Job Description
You will be responsible for the smooth and timely transportation of products, preparing customer delivery, collecting post/parcel, maintaining the warehouse and operational equipment including company vehicles, in a clean and tidy condition and maintaining relationships with Courier's diverse client base.
\nJob Tasks
\n · Deliveries – picking courier goods up from suppliers, delivering goods to customers
\n · Delivering Parcels to Business and Residential
\n · Ancillary duties, including loading and unloading of any goods
\n · Assist with client queries
\n · Complete all required delivery paperwork
\n · Meet delivery timeframes
\n · Carrying out minor maintenance tasks, if required
\n · Ensuring the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition
\n · Attending to daily checking of the vehicle including oil, water, fuel, air pressure, safety concerns and equipment security, Road User Charge Licence, Hub odometer readings etc
\n · Reporting vehicle maintenance needs to Manager
\n · Follow Health and Safety standards
Position Details
\n • Locations: Wellington
\n • Number of Positions: 3 positions
\n • Hours: Minimum 30 to 45 hours per week (depending on business needs)
\n • Wages: $25 to $28 per hour (based on experience and skills)
\n • Employment Type: Full-time and permanent
Requirements:
\n · Drivers license is required
\n · Driver/ freight/distribution environment work experience will be an advantage
\n · Secondary School education required (12 class) or equivalent overseas will be an advantage
\n · Secure Dangerous Goods endorsement upon joining
\n · Holding Bachelor's degree is an advantage
\n · Available to work outside your usual hours when required? (e.g. weekends, early mornings)
\n · Willing to do split shifts
\n · A high degree of physical fitness and ability to lift up to 32 kilograms
\n · Couriers are an essential service, so the applicant must be prepared to work during any lockdown levels. And be prepared to comply with the guidelines provided by Ministry of Health for safety to everyone.
\n · Undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as a pre-requisite to obtaining employment.
\n · Have a clear criminal record - Police Check for employment
\n · The ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
