\n Casual Fitness Consultant | South Auckland\n

With our Leisure Centres more popular and busier than ever, our fitness teams play a vital part in ensuring that visitors are kept motivated, interested, and eager to return!

\n

As a casual Fitness Consultant, you will be helping people achieve their health and well‑being goals and delivering fitness programmes for all ages and abilities across our diverse community. You will help with delivering fitness programmes and ensuring our members are using the correct workout techniques.

  • Ensure that all work is delivered in a safe, professional, and engaging way

  • Support membership sign‑ups, appointment bookings, event attendance, and tracking TRP interactions
  • \n
  • Monitor the gym floor for health and safety
  • \n
  • Respond to and manage incidents or emergencies
  • \n

Due to the nature of our Leisure Centres operating hours being open Monday to Sunday and the casual nature of the position, flexibility is essential.

\n

You will be based at the Allan Brewster Centre, with the expectation to work across other South Auckland sites as requested.

\n

It goes without saying that you will be passionate about fitness, health, and well‑being!

Qualifications\n

A recognised fitness‑related qualification is required. Knowledge of fitness training, including fitness testing and monitoring of clients. The preferred candidate will have an interest in taking a variety of group fitness classes from BoxFit to HIIT to aqua aerobics, in addition to their gym shifts.

We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and positive people who thrive on client contact and have a proven ability to communicate effectively to provide a high level of client satisfaction through the programmes you deliver.

\n

Joining a proactive, supportive, and dynamic team, you will be a keen team player with a flexible approach. You will be comfortable asking questions and building your knowledge to be able to use your initiative to provide innovative and appropriate fitness solutions. With impeccable time management skills, you will be confident with administrative tasks and processes.

\n

We aim to upskill and progress your career, so you can train and take on other functions within our centres, such as Lifeguard, Recreation Assistant and more. By the same token, if we occasionally need some help in other areas, such as at our front desk and general customer service duties, as a team member, you may be called on to cover these areas if short‑staffed or at peak periods.

Auckland Council is committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. This role is classified as a Children’s Worker role under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. As such applicants will be required to undergo police vetting prior to commencing employment. This position is also deemed a safety sensitive position and will require pre‑employment drug testing. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory police check.

Remuneration\n

Pay Band: $29.35+/h (Our employer KiwiSaver contribution is in addition to the base salary offered).
