Trade Team Member - Mitre 10 Gisborne

Join New Zealand's number one home improvement store and be part of Mitre 10 Gisborne. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to assist our Trade Team in the yard, drive‑through, and Trade Counter. Your focus will be providing excellent customer service to each customer who comes through the department while helping them secure everything they need to complete their job. This part‑time position is approximately 20 hours per week, reporting directly to the Trade Manager. Hours and days will be discussed during the interview stage. A good level of physical fitness is required to lift timber and other materials, as well as being on your feet all day. You should also have: The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. The ability to adapt and be flexible to manage a varied and busy workload and take instructions. A full driver’s licence with the ability to obtain a forklift licence if not already obtained. Knowledge of building‑supplies, timber and trade‑related products is an advantage. Experience with a POS system (specific training given). Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. Reliability with good time management. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. A passion for customer service. Previous cash handling skills. Duties will include: Providing the highest standard of customer service. Ensuring all checkout transactions are processed quickly and efficiently. Willing to go that extra mile for customers. Maintaining a high level of department presentation.
