Job Description
Procurement Specialist – fixed term Provide specialist advice and assistance Contribute to KiwiRail’s Procurement Strategy Fixed term to January 2027, Auckland based, potential for extension As a Procurement Specialist for Group Procurement, you'll play a key role in the Auckland Commercial Team. Key accountabilities include: Category Support Support the Procurement and Process Improvement Manager with developing category strategies and multi-year initiative plans. Analyse and deliver category / spend insights to business stakeholders with a focus on total cost of ownership, cost modelling and other factors. Drive improvements in data management to improve category management and spend insights. Sourcing Management Gather business requirements for Sourcing from Business Stakeholders Conduct sourcing activity (EOI, RFP etc.), evaluation of responses and facilitate moderation meetings. Make Supplier recommendations to business stakeholders based on evaluation outcomes. Negotiate with vendors to achieve optimal commercial, TCO and risk outcomes. Support drafting commercial contracts or variations with appropriate KPIs and risk management clauses. Collaboratively develop change management plans to ensure suppliers are setup for successful delivery. Support with categorisation and management of suppliers. Raise invoice queries / discrepancies with suppliers and follow through to resolution. Risk Management and Sustainability Identify supplier risks through the Procurement process and develop plans collaboratively with business stakeholders to mitigate supplier risk. Proactive management of contract expiry and contract data. Procurement Processes and Systems Perform SIPOC business process modelling and create process analysis reports Extract data from SAP and analyse results Develop PowerBI dashboards and Excel reports for business use Develop Sharepoint Registers and simple databases for storing and analysing data Assist in developing tools to support the Group Procurement team Analyse data using fact based and statistical methods for modelling, cleansing, and data quality improvement Ad hoc investigations and audit support as directed by the Procurement and Process Improvement Manager Knowledge and experience Skilled in business data analysis and business process analysis and modelling 5+ Years of experience in a similar role in a Strategic Procurement function Familiarity with SAP, and Maximo functions related to Purchasing, Vendor and Material Master Proficient at investigating issues and visualising complex data for stakeholders Understanding of the products and services which KiwiRail Procures Awareness of how KiwiRail interacts with other agencies and the Government Ways of working / Work-related qualities Communicates well at all levels, including making presentations to key stakeholders Makes good decisions and is politically aware Is flexible and practical Focuses on customers' needs Has a commercial mindset Values diversity and helps create an inclusive workplace Other Requirements Can pass regular drug and alcohol screenings Has a current and valid NZ Driver's Licence Qualifications Relevant degree in business or data analysis related topics Post tertiary education experience Actual experience with PowerBI development, Excel reporting, Sharepoint, and SAP Ideally holds some relevant industry certifications What's in it for you 5 weeks’ annual leave pro rata Kua rite, kia rite | Ready to Make a Difference? #J-18808-Ljbffr
