Job Description Location: Healix New Zealand, Unit 3, Building D, 63 Apollo Drive, Rosedale About The Role We are recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse to join our APAC Clinical Operations team in a dynamic, diverse and fulfilling role. Our nurse‑led team, which includes doctors, coordinators and administrators, coordinates medical care for people who are injured or unwell overseas, and supports families through unfamiliar healthcare systems. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a nurse to transition from the demands of a clinical environment into an office‑based position, while continuing to apply their valuable clinical expertise in a global context. About You Registered Nurse with a current NCNZ Nurse Registration Post‑registration clinical experience (ideally 3+ years) Previous experience in case management or care coordination is advantageous Clinical Background May Include Primary care / general medical or surgical nursing (adult and/or paediatric) Acute care (e.g. ICU, Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit) Military or remote/expedition nursing Public health or travel health nursing Humanitarian or NGO environments Skills And Attributes Strong clinical judgement with the ability to identify and elevate critical medical issues Confident communicator with excellent telephone etiquette Strong written communication skills in English Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and case management systems Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, global environment Adaptable, empathetic and solutions‑focused approach Additional language skills are advantageous Enjoys working collaboratively and developing clear, patient‑centred care plans About The Role As a Clinical Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in addressing the healthcare needs of a diverse global patient base. Responsibilities Conducting medical case management activities with a focus on patient wellbeing and satisfaction Providing medical advice and recommendations to patients and clients via telephone and digital communication Liaising with international healthcare providers to obtain medical information, coordinate treatment, and recommend care plans Assessing medical reports and preparing referrals to ensure appropriate and timely patient care, while supporting duty‑of‑care obligations Evaluating local standards of care against international best practice and advising on fitness to travel (including fitness to fly) Conducting pre‑travel medical screenings and providing overseas travel health advice Collaborating with non‑medical colleagues and consulting with in‑house doctors to develop safe, effective care plans Arranging medical evacuations and repatriations via commercial airlines (with medical escorts) or air ambulance Opportunities to act as a medical escort on international repatriations Contributing to internal quality improvement initiatives Skills Needed We require basic IT skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work within a team environment as well as directly with clients Be able to work independently in order to plan and manage their caseload.
