Mō te Tūranga | About the role\nAs a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of lending platforms that support critical banking services. The role is hands‑on and delivery focused, with a strong emphasis on manual testing across complex releases, supported by regression testing and a growing focus on automation where appropriate.
\nYou’ll work closely with engineers and other testers within the squad, contributing your experience to test planning, execution, and continuous improvement of testing practices. This is a senior role, so you’ll be expected to take ownership of your work, provide guidance to others, and help lift quality outcomes across the squad.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Lead and execute manual testing across large and complex lending releases \n
- Plan, design, and run regression testing to support frequent and high‑impact change \n
- Contribute to and support the growth of automated testing practices within the squad \n
- Work closely with engineers, CXOs, and other testers to understand requirements and risks \n
- Take ownership of test outcomes, including defect identification, triage, and follow‑upProvide input into test strategies and continuously improve testing approaches \n
- Support production releases by ensuring quality, stability, and readiness standards are met \n
You’re an experienced test engineer who is comfortable working in complex enterprise environments and understands the importance of quality in systems that underpin customer‑facing financial products. You’re confident leading testing activities, making pragmatic decisions, and clearly articulating risk and quality considerations.
\nYou value ownership and accountability, and you can demonstrate where you’ve led, delivered, or improved testing outcomes rather than contributing only at the edges. While you have exposure to automation, you’re realistic about the value of strong manual testing in complex domains and are comfortable working across both.
Key Skills and Experience\n- \n
- 5+ years’ experience in software testing, ideally in complex or regulated environments \n
- Strong background in manual testing, including end‑to‑end and regression testing \n
- Experience contributing to or working alongside automated testing frameworks \n
- Proven ability to lead testing activities and take ownership of quality outcomes \n
- Experience working in agile, cross‑functional delivery teams \n
- Confidence identifying risk, raising issues early, and working through solutions collaboratively \n
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain testing decisions and outcomes \n
- Domain experience in banking or lending is helpful but not required \n
