Overview Help shape the future of water services in the Wellington region. This is a rare opportunity to establish and lead a new enterprise function at Tiaki Wai, sitting at the heart of strategic prioritisation and decision making. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will provide enterprise‑wide insight, challenge and strategic advice to help Tiaki Wai deliver on its commitments to customers, communities and shareholders. This is not a traditional PMO or programme delivery role. You will not be responsible for delivering enterprise initiatives; instead, you’ll help Tiaki Wai focus its effort on making better decisions about what it delivers, when it delivers it, and within organisational capability. This is a full‑time position based in Petone. Responsibilities Providing independent advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team on strategic priorities, sequencing and trade‑offs. Creating visibility of enterprise initiatives, interdependencies, risks and delivery confidence. Supporting faster, higher‑quality executive decision making through clear, evidence‑based insights. Establishing visibility of benefits realisation across major initiatives and ensuring expected outcomes are monitored and reported. Leading a small, high‑performing team while influencing across the organisation without direct authority. About You You’re an experienced enterprise leader who can connect strategy with execution and help provide the Chief Executive and executives with clarity and insights to inform prioritisation and decision making. You’ll Bring Extensive experience operating in complex, asset‑intensive or highly regulated organisations. Expertise in enterprise strategy, portfolio performance, organisational prioritisation or transformation. A proven ability to influence Chief Executives, Boards and senior executives without relying on formal authority. Strong systems thinking and the ability to simplify complexity into practical, strategic advice. Experience overseeing enterprise portfolio or strategic initiative registers that provide organisational visibility and executive decision support. Exceptional communication skills and collaborative leadership styles that build trust while being able to constructively challenge executive thinking and decisions. Highly developed judgement, political awareness and commercial acumen.
