Role Overview The role is a shift‑rotation, hands‑on mechanical maintenance technician at Waitematā Brewery, supporting brewing and utilities operations. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment safely and efficiently, troubleshooting, and contributing to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Carry out planned and preventative maintenance across brewing and utilities equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime. Support operation, maintenance and inspection of utility assets across the site. Inspect, repair, and rebuild hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and related brewery equipment. Work closely with operators and maintenance teams to ensure reliable plant performance. Support continuous improvement and best‑practice maintenance initiatives. Ensure all work is completed safely and meets quality, food safety and environmental standards. Participate in AM and PM shifts as required and join the weekly on‑call roster once fully trained. Provide support to the operational maintenance team during critical maintenance activities and brewery shutdowns when required. Qualifications Mechanical Trade Certificate or NZCE (Mechanical) – Fitter & Turner preferred. 5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, manufacturing or FMCG environments. Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. Proactive, safety‑first approach. Genuine team player who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment.
