Inpatient Acute - Staff Grade Physiotherapist

Role Overview Permanent part‑time (approx. 24 hrs/week) Physiotherapist with a focus on inpatient and acute care. The role is currently 0.6–0.8 FTE, with potential to increase to full‑time. You will work within an inter‑disciplinary team providing excellent patient care across medical wards and the ED/ADU. Responsibilities Provide high‑standard physiotherapy care to a variety of patient groups within an inpatient setting. Lead and mentor junior staff and supervise student clinicians. Participate in service delivery and quality improvement projects. Collaborate with clinical coaches and senior clinicians to support your professional development. Maintain credentialing for weekend work – required to work 3 weekend days on a 3‑month roster. Qualifications New Zealand Professional Registration. Valid APC2+ years of recent inpatient experience. Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and supervise junior staff and students. Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and fast‑thinking. About the Team / Service & Location The acute physiotherapy team works across general medical wards and the ED/ADU. The new purpose‑built inpatient unit Manaaki Hōhonu will open later this year, expanding medical bed capacity and enabling ICU‑level care closer to home.
