This is an excellent opportunity for a current Customer Specialist looking to broaden their capability, or an experienced banking professional wanting greater ownership of customer relationships and financial wellbeing conversations. Based in our Kaitaia Advice Centre, you'll join a close-knit team that is passionate about supporting the local community while building rewarding careers within ASB. As a Personal Banking Consultant, you'll build trusted customer relationships and provide personalised banking and lending solutions that help customers achieve their goals. You'll combine your banking expertise, commercial mindset and passion for customer service to deliver exceptional outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on risk and compliance. You will: Build trusted relationships and guide customers through a range of banking and lending conversations with confidence and care. Support customers with lending, home ownership, savings and financial wellbeing needs. Educate customers on ASB's products, services and digital banking solutions, providing recommendations that make banking simpler and more convenient. Proactively identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships and improve customer outcomes. Use your experience to think on your feet, manage competing priorities and deliver outstanding customer experiences. Collaborate with your wider team to achieve shared goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) operating on a Monday to Friday roster, based in our Kaitaia Advice Centre. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people succeed and is motivated by building lasting customer relationships. You may already have banking experience, or you may come from a sales, lending, relationship management or customer-focused background where you've built trust and delivered great outcomes through meaningful conversations. You'll bring: Experience in banking, lending, financial services, relationship management, sales or a similar customer-focused environment. Confidence engaging with customers and identifying solutions to meet their needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information. A relationship-first approach, with a genuine focus on building trust and credibility. The ability to adapt, embrace change and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to balancing exceptional customer outcomes with risk and compliance requirements. The curiosity and initiative to continuously learn, grow and contribute to team success.
