We're looking for a systems-minded and commercially focused Commercial Systems Product Owner to support the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of Te Papa's commercial systems.

\n

Working closely with Commercial, Technology and external vendors, you'll help ensure our systems operate effectively, support day-to-day business needs, and provide a positive experience for users.

\n

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining systems administration, business analysis, process improvement and stakeholder engagement to help teams work more efficiently and effectively.

\n

About the Role\n

As Commercial Product Owner, you'll be responsible for the administration, integrity and continuous improvement of Te Papa's commercial systems, with a particular focus on Ungerboeck (Momentus) and related applications.

You'll work closely with business users, Technology teams and vendors to ensure systems are reliable, well-supported, and able to meet operational requirements.

What You'll Deliver\n

  • Maintain a programme of system enhancements and improvements that support operational and business requirements.
  • \n
  • Coordinate delivery of commercial system improvement initiatives and enhancement projects.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements and work with stakeholders to implement practical solutions.
  • \n
  • Manage the integrity, performance and day-to-day administration of Te Papa's commercial systems and related applications.
  • \n
  • Coordinate system upgrades, enhancements, testing and release activities while minimising disruption to users.
  • \n
  • Gather and document business requirements and assist in translating them into system improvements.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Commercial, Technology, Finance and external vendors to support successful system outcomes.
  • \n
  • Support vendor relationships, including monitoring service delivery and coordinating enhancement requests.
  • \n
  • Coordinate training, user support and user adoption activities to help ensure systems are used effectively and consistently.
  • \n
  • Improve reports, workflows and processes that contribute to operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical capability with a practical approach to solving business challenges through technology.
  • \n
  • Experience in systems administration, business analysis, business systems support, process improvement, or a related role.
  • \n
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting system enhancements, upgrades, testing, change management and user support activities.
  • \n
  • Well-developed communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • \n
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • \n
  • A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to providing a positive user experience.
  • \n
  • Experience working with event management systems, commercial systems or enterprise business applications.
  • \n
  • Experience working with event management or booking systems (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Experience with CRM, ticketing, retail, hospitality or venue management systems (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery approaches or system governance processes (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Experience using reporting tools, analytics platforms or SQL (highly desirable).
  • \n
  • Experience working within hospitality, tourism, events, cultural organisations or visitor attractions (highly desirable).

Position Details\n

This is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours per week, based at Te Papa in Wellington.

\n

Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand.

\n

Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history and reference checking as a minimum.

\n

The starting salary will be in the range of $80,000 - $95,000 pa. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and internal relativities.

\n
