Job Description
Role Title: CODC Maintenance Operations Manager Location: Alexandra, Central Otago Contract Type: Permanent Full Time Overview Reporting to the Department Manager – Maintenance, you will provide operational leadership across the CODC Maintenance contract, overseeing the delivery of road maintenance activities and leading a team of supervisors, crews and subcontractors. This varied role combines field leadership, stakeholder engagement and office-based planning, requiring a strong presence across the network and work sites. You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently and at a high standard, helping keep Central Otago’s transport network reliable and fit for purpose for the communities that rely on it every day. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day delivery of road maintenance operations across the Central Otago network, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Coordinate crews, plant, materials, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver planned and reactive maintenance programmes. Manage operational performance, monitoring productivity, contract KPIs, response times and customer outcomes. Build strong relationships with Council representatives, customers, subcontractors and key stakeholders to support successful contract delivery. Support planning, budgeting, forecasting and asset management activities to ensure resources are aligned with current and future work programmes. Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement and team development across the maintenance operation. Qualifications Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Management or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). Proven experience leading operational teams within road maintenance, civil construction, infrastructure, or a similar environment. Strong understanding of road maintenance operations and contract delivery. Demonstrated ability to plan, programme and manage people, plant and resources effectively. Sound commercial and financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting and performance management. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong customer, contractor and community relationships. A strong commitment to health and safety, quality outcomes and continuous improvement. A current Class 1 Driver Licence. Benefits Medical insurance and life insurance after the eligibility period.
