Job Description

Overview Own the Digital and Technology strategy and roadmap for the Argus Group – a growing, multi‑entity NZ manufacturer on an ambitious growth trajectory. Argus Group is one of New Zealand's fastest growing advanced manufacturing businesses, operating across industrial heating, advanced cable and harness assemblies and contract manufacturing. We partner with customers in demanding industries including aerospace, medical technology and advanced industrial applications. This newly created role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. You will lead Technology across the group, accountable for digital strategy, infrastructure, cyber security, operational technology, data governance, business systems and productivity improvement across all Argus entities. You will inherit a clean slate with executive support and authority to make meaningful change. The position is permanent, full‑time, based at Christchurch headquarters. Responsibilities Develop and execute the technology strategy, creating a visible roadmap aligned with business needs. Partner with business units to optimise existing systems and identify technology solutions to support growth. Lead governance and control framework, focusing on cyber security enhancement. Champion safe and practical adoption of new technology across the organisation. Hold full technology budget responsibility and drive cost efficiency. Lead, coach, and build a small, dedicated IT team, with support from external vendor partners. Qualifications and Experience Technology leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, or complex SME environments. Proven track record building and executing digital capability, not just managing existing processes. Solid cyber security credentials – CIS, Essential 8, or equivalent frameworks and strong knowledge of data protection and control. Experience with ERP systems and business systems integration (NetSuite desirable). Strong vendor and managed service provider management capability. Commercially pragmatic and outcomes‑focused, with strong stakeholder influencing skills. Early adopter instinct for new technology including automation and artificial intelligence. Credibility with both technical teams and senior business leaders. Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, Engineering, or Business; CISM, CISSP, ITIL, or PMP certifications advantageous.
