We are looking for an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor to join our team and take ownership of the day‑to‑day coordination and delivery of traffic management operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for supporting crews in the field, ensuring work is delivered safely and effectively, and maintaining high standards of compliance and quality across multiple sites. As a Traffic Management Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our traffic management operations run smoothly each day. You’ll coordinate crews, allocate resources, oversee site performance, and work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered safely and on schedule. You’ll spend time both in the office and out in the field, providing guidance to crews, conducting site visits, and helping solve challenges as they arise. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the operational side of the business and leading by example. Key Responsibilities: Leading and supporting Traffic Management crews to deliver safe, productive, and compliant work Coordinating daily traffic management activities to meet operational programmes and customer requirements Conducting regular site visits to monitor safety, compliance, quality, and performance Ensuring all work is completed in line with approved Traffic Management Plans and NZGTTM requirements Promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging best practice across all teams Leading toolbox talks, pre‑start meetings, and site briefings Monitoring traffic management equipment and vehicles to ensure they remain operational and fit for purpose You will be a hands‑on supervisor who can coordinate crews, manage plant and resources, and deliver high quality outcomes while championing a strong safety‑first culture. Ideally, you’ll have: Previous experience in Traffic Management supervisory or leadership position Strong knowledge of traffic management practices, NZGTTM requirements, and site compliance Proven experience managing and coordinating field crews Current STMS qualification would be beneficial Relevant traffic management industry certifications Experience using MYTTM or similar resource planning systems Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
