Job Description
Court Registry Officer – Queenstown (Fixed Term, Full Time) As a Court Registry Officer you will be an essential part of the justice system, working with a team that ensures the smooth operation of the Court and liaising with stakeholders such as the judiciary, lawyers and the public. Key Responsibilities Case management – maintain accurate, up‑to‑date files with a strong focus on data entry and sound decision‑making. Court taking – run court sessions in English and Te Reo Māori, collaborate closely with the Judiciary in the courtroom and chambers, and provide general administration of the Court. Customer service – respond to court‑related queries in person, by phone or email and deliver an excellent customer experience. Support the Te Au Reka digital casefile and workflow transformation, including preparation and implementation of the new solution. Skills & Experience Resilience and the ability to work under pressure on sensitive cases and high volumes. Detail orientation and strong observation skills to keep case information accurate. Self‑awareness and confidence in interacting with a diverse customer base. Excellent multi‑tasking – manage conflicting priorities and transition quickly between tasks. Willingness to learn – adapt to changing legislation, court processes and feedback. Strong communicator with good English and confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation; knowledge of audio‑visual equipment is desirable. Calm, flexible and not deterred by a busy courtroom environment. What We Offer Fixed term role until 30 June 2027. Salary band $60,729 to $80,794 pro‑rata based on skills and experience.
