Role Description The Audio Visual Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton. This role involves setting up, operating, and packing down audio, visual, and lighting equipment for a variety of events, ensuring all systems perform reliably and safely. Day-to-day tasks include installing AV systems, configuring projectors and video conferencing equipment, focusing and programming lighting fixtures, and conducting sound checks. The technician will troubleshoot technical issues during events, maintain and test equipment between bookings, and collaborate closely with event managers, clients, and other technicians to meet event specifications and timelines. The role may involve working evenings and weekends, and requires a practical, detail‑oriented approach to delivering high-quality event experiences. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) systems and equipment, including setup, configuration, and basic maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across audio, video, and control systems under time constraints. Experience with video conferencing platforms and hardware integration for live and hybrid events. Practical experience working with lighting systems, including fixtures, controllers, and basic lighting design. Hands‑on skills with projectors, screens, and signal routing for presentations and large‑format displays. Good understanding of signal flow, cabling, and safe handling of technical equipment. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow event briefs and client instructions. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail in fast‑paced event environments. Physical ability to lift and move equipment and work on-site for extended periods; full driver’s license is an advantage. Previous experience in events, theatre, live production, or a related AV field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certificates or technical training are beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
