We’re looking for a Regional Asset Manager to lead a skilled and committed team responsible for the stewardship of our flood protection, river control, drainage, and coastal assets. This role sits at the heart of our long‑term resilience work, shaping how we manage natural and built assets in a changing climate. You’ll guide the strategic direction for our asset portfolio, champion modern asset management practices, and ensure our schemes and systems are resilient, future‑focused, and grounded in strong engineering and environmental practice. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the 10‑year Long Term Plan (LTP) and 30‑year Infrastructure Strategy, ensuring investment aligns with long‑term risk, growth, and climate challenges. This is a rare opportunity to influence region‑shaping decisions and help deliver a safer, more resilient Hawke’s Bay. About you | E pā ana ki a koe: You’ll bring experience in local government, utilities, or engineering consultancy, with expertise in river or coastal engineering, hydrology, or related fields. You’ll be confident working within asset management frameworks (NAMS, IIMM, ISO‑55000) and experienced in developing asset management plans that guide long‑term investment. As a proven leader, you’ll bring out the best in people, foster a supportive team environment, and embed strong, reliable processes that lift performance. Navigating relevant legislation, applying sound project management practices, and building strong relationships across the organisation and community are all strengths you’ll carry into the role.
