Quality Control Officer - Havelock

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Officer to join our Quality team based in Havelock. About the role As a Quality Control Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest food safety, quality and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Quality Manager, Production teams and wider business, you'll help maintain Sanford's Quality Management System through product testing, inspections, environmental monitoring and quality assurance activities. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced food production environment and has a passion for quality and continuous improvement. Role Accountabilities Conduct product sampling and quality inspections Complete pre-operational checks, swabbing and microbiological testing Monitor process controls including temperatures and equipment verification Carry out water sampling, chemical titrations and environmental testing Perform glaze checks, metal detector verification and bio‑toxin testing Assist with internal audits and quality documentation Maintain quality databases and accurate records Support investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with microbiology laboratory activities as required Complete additional duties as requested by the Quality Manager or Supervisor What you need to succeed in the role Experience in a Quality Control or Food Production environment Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Good computer literacy and record‑keeping ability Excellent communication and teamwork skills A proactive approach to food safety and continuous improvement Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment Knowledge of food safety systems and quality standards is advantageous For consideration you will need to be eligible to work in New Zealand.
