HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING COORDINATOR Location: Invercargill, New Zealand FULL TIME PERMANENT Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) has the above vacancy for a person with appropriate skills and qualifications. The main aim of the role is to assist the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Section to provide a high standard of health and safety support across stakeholders at Southern Institute of Technology to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policy. The role will involve providing support in developing, maintaining, and implementing health and safety data collection, policies, management reporting, risk assessment, contractor records & emergency preparedness. This role also plays an important part in supporting staff wellbeing across the organisation. You will contribute to the coordination of wellbeing initiatives, promote positive workplace practices, and help foster a culture where health, safety and wellbeing are embedded in everyday work. A Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety (or equivalent) is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in health and safety management systems An interest in workplace wellbeing, engagement, and positive organisational culture would be advantageous Have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation, internally and externally. Demonstrate strong organisational and administration skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 Have high-level computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems Have a can-do attitude together with an open and inquisitive mind Be Self‑motivated, with the ability to work autonomously If you have an open and inquisitive mind, think through issues, have sound judgment, then delve further into this role.
